Cocoa Butter

Cocoa has been used for many years, dating back to the Aztecs! Cocoa butter comes from the seeds of the cacao tree in tropical America (also named ‘the food of the gods’). To make the butter, the seeds are fermented, cleaned, roasted and cracked to form cocoa nibs. These nibs are ground to a thick oily paste called chocolate liquor which, when the fat is removed using high pressure, becomes cocoa butter. Unlike most fats or butters, cocoa butter is solid at room temperature.

What does it do?

- Cocoa butter is a amazing carrier of essential oils, delivering them to the skin.

- Cocoa butter is softening and soothing, helping to prevent skin irritation.

- Cocoa butter is super moisturizing and nourishing for the skin. Some people even say it can reduce the appearance of scars and stretchmarks.

- Cocoa butter is a natural emulsifier, keeping our creams stable and fresh.

Honey has been used for thousands of years in hair care and skincare. Legend has it that Cleopatra bathed in a mixture of honey and milk to soften her skin! Our honey comes from a variety of sources including Zambia, Canada, Hungary, Greece and, of course, Great Britain! It our aim to produce more of our own honey in the UK.

What does it do?

Rose Oil

'Rose' comes from the arabic word meaning perfume and is assumed to be the first essential oil ever to be distilled. Rose oil is made up of over 300 parts which creates a complex fragrance. Our rose oil comes from the Damask rose, grown in Bulgaria, Turkey, Russia, India and China and is extracted by steam distillation. Rose oil is more expensive than rose absolute as the extraction produces less oil.

What does it do?
